The Litani Authority announced in a statement the volume of production at its hydroelectric plants for today, with a total recorded production capacity of 78 megawatts, distributed among the three plants as follows:
Joun Plant: 44 megawatts.
Awali Plant: 30 megawatts.
Abdel Aal Plant: 4 megawatts.
The authority explained that this production capacity resulted from the recent rainfall, which helped improve the water inflows within the basin. This made it possible to operate the plants within the available operational limits while continuing to ensure the sustainable management of the water reserves in Lake Qaraoun.
It affirmed that it “continues to operate its facilities in accordance with precise technical standards, ensuring optimal utilization of available water resources for the production of clean energy, while maintaining a balance between the requirements of energy generation and the necessities of water management for irrigation and other vital uses.”
The authority concluded by stressing that it is putting all its capacities at the service of public utilities, within the limits of the current water resources, in a manner that supports the continuity of power supply and strengthens water security in Lebanon.
