MP Adeeb Abdel Massih said in a statement that “the comparison between Jesus Christ and Genghis Khan is not merely a historical blunder, but a desperate attempt to justify brute force by desecrating spiritual symbols.”
He continued: “Christ, who preached ‘Love your enemies,’ cannot be placed on the same scale with a conqueror who built his glory upon skulls. This conflation reveals a moral crisis that seeks to legitimize violence through religion. Therefore, I urge His Holiness the Pope to strike with the staff of Moses and deliver a message of protest to the Israeli ambassador to the Vatican, demanding a public apology from her government under the threat of suspending diplomatic relations. This is an insult to the feelings of billions and a blow to the very essence of the Church.”
