Honda continues working to address the vibration issue affecting Aston Martin’s engine, after the problem became a top priority within its racing program. There’s now a clear move to draw on additional resources from the motorcycle division to speed up the search for solutions before the situation worsens further.

This move comes after a very difficult start to the new partnership with Aston Martin in the 2026 season, as Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll suffered from the effects of severe vibrations, while Alonso complained during the Chinese Grand Prix of losing sensation in his limbs before retiring from the race.

Honda had previously acknowledged that abnormal vibrations were affecting the new power unit, while officials explained that the root cause had been identified, but the full fix had yet to yield results on track. With the Japanese Grand Prix approaching on Honda’s home turf, the pressure is mounting on the Japanese manufacturer to deliver tangible and rapid progress—especially as Aston Martin began the season with a string of failures and results that have weakened the team’s confidence in its ability to develop this season.
