Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Fadlallah extended his greetings to mothers on their day, saying: “We recall this school of life that teaches us that patience is a form of strength, and that giving is a responsibility that knows no fatigue. Congratulations to every mother who raised and built her children upon values, upon the belief that love for one’s homeland springs from deep belonging, and upon the willingness to sacrifice the dearest and most precious for its preservation — to make them free, dignified, and generous, bowing to none, nor compromising their honor for anything. And to every mother who endured the hardships of aggression and the difficulties of the days, and to the mothers who opened their homes and hearts to their fellow citizens, embodying an image of a nation that unites rather than divides… we say: Today, you are the symbol of dignity; through you, humanity is honored, and nations are built.”
He concluded: “May God protect every mother, have mercy on those who have passed away, make your patience a source of strength, your toil a light, and grant you the reward and recompense that God has promised you—the best and most perfect of rewards.”
